Gotta be the last one.....'Drive' by the Cars

Josh

I would love to hear you guys play Here Comes Your Man.

Scott Walker

I have to agree on "Drive" - The Cars, but I also would love to hear you play "Bring it on home to me" - Sam Cooke :-)

Miranda

Oh my god please cover Calamity Song and/or (and) Here Comes Your Man!

CK Dexter Haven

Not a loser in the bunch but... consider Time of the Season by the Zombies. You would need a glockenspiel though.

Watts

My first vote would be for "Bring It On Home To Me" because I'm a sucker for soul, but "Here Comes Your Man" follows as a close second. "Crazy" would be cool too, but only if you can somehow make the song not sound like it's lurching from side to side the whole time.

That Guy

Sam Cooke always wins any competition so You Send Me just for the "honest you do" part.

Maybe it's that I'm hearing it for the first time today but Brand New Start is also pretty awesome.

Bonus brainstorm idea for a cover would be Betty Everett's Shoop Shoop Song (It's in His Kiss) because I personally love that song and I'm selfish enough to suggest it based *only* that reason.

Ben

"You Send Me" would be great, I can just hear you all doing the vocal harmonies right now!

Matthew

I vote for Pixies and or Velvet Underground

Nate Solomon

Drive

DJ Johnny

Drive **PLEASE!!** love that song... you all would nail it!!

Robert Martinengo

Ok, I would like to make a pitch for the Kinks. Cant argue that 'You Really..' is a classic, but they have many Toddie-worthy songs. Some suggestions:

Hay Fever from Misfits
Skin & Bone from Muswell Hillbillies
Jack the Idiot Dunce from Schoolboys in Disgrace (Schoolgirls?)
Juke Box Music from Sleepwalker
Apeman
Sittin' on my Sofa
... and loads more!

The Hot Toddies

Yes!! Awesome suggestions all of you! The kinks might need some more exploring and we were considering the Zombies also (and have a glockenspiel!!). Started learning The Decemberists Calamity Song this week and it's soooo fun :)

David Ray

Great list! I would suggest any track from the first Velevt Underground lp and Waterloo Sunset by the Kinks...

robot hero

i vote the clash, the pixies and the cars!

and if you guys are taking suggestions, i think you could really pull these off:

Jellyfish - Baby's Comin' Back
Teenage Fanclub - Mad Dog 2020
Irma Thomas - Break-a-Way
The Velvelettes - I Know His Name
Sweet Trip - Your World Is Eternally Complete
The White Stripes - We Are Going To Be Friends
The Clash - Hateful
David Bowie - Rebel Rebel
Brian Eno - St. Elmo's Fire
Belle & Sebastian - Sleep The Clock Around

Badmaxton

Our 2 cents (literally):
* Here comes your man (Pixies)
* Winterlong (Neil Young/Pixies)
